About Us
Russell is one of the UK’s leading experts in criminal justice and substance misuse, with over fifty national publications on issues relating to drugs, alcohol and offending. He spent ten years in the social care sector, before qualifying as a probation officer in the UK, and has worked for a range of voluntary sector organisations with homeless people, ex-offenders and young people at risk in both this country and the USA. After developing his consultancy skills through work with two national voluntary organisations, Drugscope and the DIVERT Trust, in 1996 Russell became a full time independent consultant specialising in the fields of substance misuse and crime.
Socrates Software is a digital technology company specialising in justice sector solutions. We are excited to be working with probation services, prison services and leading private companies in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Gibraltar to bring innovation and life-changing improvements to the justice sector, making people’s lives better both during and after their sentences. We work with partners across the world to make a difference in the justice sector, by providing a wide array of tools and support services. These include formal education, vocational training and staff-prisoner communication and management, delivered via our Socrates 360 platform.
